There were several reasons the British were interested in Zululand, they wanted the Zulus to work in the diamond fields. A plan to create a South Africa federation was an important reason too as well as the Boer claims for land in that region. After 3 months, the Zulus were defeated and Zulu as an indepent nation came to an end.
