The answer is epistemology. Epistemology is the study of knowledge, how we are able to know things, and what counts as knowledge. It includes the study of why some beliefs are justified, and therefore represent things that we know, and other beliefs are not justified. Therefore, a disagreement about what counts as knowledge would be a disagreement about epistemology.
