Jamie ran 1/5 of a relay. She ran 3/4 of a mile. How long was the relay? (I'm guessing in miles)

No need for any guessing.

                      (1/5) times (the relay)  =  3/4 mile

Multiply each side by  5 :  The relay = (5) x (3/4)  =  15/4  =  3.75 miles .
