The slope (m) of the line passing through

[tex](x_1,y_1)[/tex]

and

[tex](x_2,y_2)[/tex]

is given by the formula >>>>>

[tex]m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}[/tex]

Given the two points,

[tex]\begin{gathered} (x_1,y_1)=(1,-3) \\ (x_2,y_2)=(0,-2) \end{gathered}[/tex]

Let's substitute them into the formula and find the slope of the line passing through these 2 points.

[tex]\begin{gathered} m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} \\ m=\frac{-2-(-3)}{0-1} \\ m=\frac{-2+3}{-1} \\ m=\frac{1}{-1} \\ m=-1 \end{gathered}[/tex]The slope is - 1
