For division, first you want to take the whole number and change it to a fraction by "putting pants on it" as my old math teacher would say. For example, change 9 to 9/1 and 2 to 2/1. Then, you want to use the "stay, change, flip method." Keep the original fraction the same, change the division sign to a multiplication sign, then "flip" the second fraction, so that now the top number is on the bottom and the bottom is on top. Here's an example.
1/6 % 2

1/6 % 2/1

1/6 x 1/2

1/8

Hope this helps!
