Jeff has read 60% of a novel that has 80 pages. Use equivalent fractions to find the number of pages Jeff has read.

Let x be the number of pages Jeff has read.

60/100 = x/80

We can cross mutiply and get:

4800 = 100x

Now, we can divide both sides by 100

48 = x

Jeff has read 48 pages.
