Why did the Sodium nitrate not separate from the table salt?​

Hey there!

Sodium metal is made up of neutral sodium atoms while table salt has sodium ions. Sodium ion is already stable so it won't react while sodium atom is unstable and reactive and tends to lose one of its electrons.
