Gatsby is nervous and anxious about his reunion with Daisy at Nick's house. He has Nick's lawn mowed—"shaved," as Nick puts it—and sends around an enormous number of flowers. At two minutes before Daisy's scheduled arrival time, Gatsby despairs of her coming.
