Step 3. Expand

[tex]x-11=-7x-8+8x[/tex]

Step 4. Simplify 
[tex]-7x-8+8x[/tex] to [tex]x-8[/tex]

[tex]x-11=8-x[/tex]

Step 5. Cancel [tex]x[/tex] on both sides

[tex]-11=-8[/tex]
