In the canterbury tales, Chaucer that is also the narrator talks about the monk with disrespect and sarcasm as he has a low opinion of the monk. we can see this when he says: "He yaf nought of that text a pulled hen" or ""Of priking and of hunting for the hare was al his lust, for no cost wolde he spare"
