the focus shifts in each stanza, it goes from
the cat to the chipmunk to the person. the tone is relatively the same for all of them and it doesn’t take place at different times, and yes, it does build intensity but it dies down in the third stanza and it makes more sense if it were that the focus is different for each stanza. going from details of the cat to details of the chipmunk to details of you. so, id put the second option :)
