What is the slope of a line that is parallel to y=3x+5

y = mx + b where m = slope

In this case  y= 3x+5, slope m = 3

a line with the slope of 3 would be parallel to y=3x+5.

why? well, lines that have the same slope but a different y intercept are parallel. so, the line would have to be the same as the original line and have a slope of three.
